MSC Cruises

MSC wished to deploy a human resources strategy on board, efficient, human and operational.

Each ship has between 800 and 1600 crew members who are under the responsibility of a dedicated team. Within this team, the human resources manager is a key player. MSC called upon our services to accompany these HR Managers individually.

First, we met them on board or in Italy to identify their needs. 

Then, based on their self-assessment already carried out internally by MSC, and in accordance with the strategy desired by their management, we proposed a personalized action plan for each one.

Each action plan proposed by Orphée Consulting was validated by the team in Geneva and by the human resources manager on board.

The next step, and this was the key to our success, was to monitor this action plan and adapt it if necessary.

Thus, each HR manager was followed individually by Fabienne on the ships.

We optimized the key success factors of each one, suggested general improvements to the team in Geneva, and proposed a collection of "Test Practices". We detected resistance to change, resignations or demotivations that we regularly transmitted to the management team in Geneva. The head office team trusted Orphée consulting and adapted its strategy by taking the appropriate measures to secure its onboard strategy and to secure the function of human resources manager.

MSC has assured us that as soon as the cruise industry can take to the sea again, we will be among the consultants able to support them.
